Suzette Madson, PT A graduate of the University of Washington, Ms. Madson specializes in performing arts, orthopedic and sports physical therapy, with an emphasis on technique analysis, injury prevention, and performance enhancement. She has trained with leading specialists in performing arts physical therapy and Pilates in Seattle and New York City, where she worked with professional dancers and musicians in several companies and Broadway shows and with students at The Juilliard School. She has worked as on-site physical therapist for Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular during their tours to Seattle. She has served on the Faculty for the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, the Mastery of Scottish Arts, the 2000 North American Celtic Arts Festival, and she has taught Injury Prevention/ Management, Movement Education, and Conditioning for Dancers at several schools throughout the Seattle area.
Ms. Madson has trained extensively in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Character and Spanish Classical Dance. Her teachers include Vera Altunina, Ray Bussey, Gail Clarke, Sara de Luis, Deborah Hadley, Flemming Halby, Suzanne Keener, Thomas Richebacher, Stephanie Saland, Don and Helena Snyder, and Jerry Tassin. She brings her experience in dance to her work with students and patients, emphasizing the importance of proper movement technique and care of the body in order to pursue one’s vocation to the fullest potential and for as long as desired.
Ms. Madson holds licenses to practice physical therapy in both Washington and New York. She is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, American Physical Therapy Association, International Association for Dance Medicine and Science, Performing Arts Medicine Association, and Seattle Pediatric Sports Medicine.
